T-shirts still coming… I promise!

I am still working on creating the Cafe Press store so you will be able to buy BDSMBadAdvice shirts soon. The test shirt didn’t turn out exactly as designed. Right now, it’s a matter of figuring out if there is a way to get the shirts closer to the intended design or to just let a minor deviation from design slide.

In the meantime, I’ve created a Facebook page and a FetLife profile for BDSMBadAdvice. This accomplishes two things. First, it allows me to keep my regular FetLife profile separate from BDSMBadAdvice. Second, I can potentially reach a much bigger audience. I’m not entirely sure what I will use them for, but I will bring much of the same content that Twitter followers see, plus some extra content.

Finally, I will soon be bringing BDSMBadAdvice, in long form, to a blog on a major BDSM website. When the first post is up, I’ll post an announcement here.

I want to send a very heartfelt “Thank you” to all those who donated this weekend and to those who RTed my request. I’m going to send notes of thanks to individual donors as well.

I still need to generate revenue while I look for a job, of course. In the next couple of days I should have a functional Cafe Press store. You will be able to buy tee shirts (and perhaps other gift items) with some of my more popular tweets on them. Every item purchased will put a few bucks in my pocket. Not enough to live off of, but it’ll be something.

I will leave the “Donate” button on the Tumblr page and continue to periodically add content. Donations are still very much appreciated, but I won’t be pushing for them. Instead, I’ll be promoting the Cafe Press store so you can have something tangible for your money.

A bit of seriousness and a request for assistance

A week ago I was laid off from my job. Perhaps “laid off” isn’t the best phrase to describe it since, technically, I was self-employed. The company I worked for treated me as a contractor on paper but as an employee in practice. Unfortunately, this means that I am not eligible for unemployment benefits. It also means that I was only paid for hours worked. For three weeks before I was officially notified, I received no work from this company and no paychecks.

I am not going to be on the street or starving. I have a Daddy who will make sure of that. However, He will now be paying 100% of our joint bills until I am employed again. Additionally, I have personal bills that He will have to cover when I run out of cash on hand - which will be soon.  The less Daddy has to pick up the slack for my bills, the less stressful my (hopefully brief) unemployment will be for Him.

I am working on turning @BDSMBadAdvice into two or three different revenue streams, but it will take time to develop my ideas. In the meantime, I need to ask the feed’s followers for help. I hope that nobody finds this appeal sleazy or in bad taste. I just need to use whatever resources I have at my disposal to ease my financial situation while I look for a job.

The only rewards you will receive are good karma, my gratitude and the good feeling that comes with helping someone.
